Our Vision

We provide the experiential opportunity for individuals, groups and corporate organisations to make a contribution to African development. We believe in the proverb ‘Give a man a fish and they shall eat for today, teach a man to fish and they’ll eat for a lifetime.’ When you take up a volunteering experience with Awamu in Africa, ‘The communities there will teach you a thing or two about the waters in which they fish.’

We enable people to get experiential knowledge of the global interrelationships. Time and age should not be obstacles.

Our Team:

Everyone in our team has lived and worked in Africa. We understand the dilemma faced by communities in Africa. We engage like minded people to experience making a contribution to real solutions to development. Our vision is for these communities to be able to live a decent life.

There is a country co-ordinator in each of our destination countries. They arrange your in-country orientation and provide on-going support and advice if you need it. By the end of the first week, you shall be able to communicate, and many of the barriers will be broken to ensure a real partnership. We have also linked up with tour companies and leisure activity centres so you can have the opportunity of enjoying the best at each of the destinations.
